About Dog Park

A labyrinth full of best friends.

Dog Park is the creation of Brenda Pokorny, a mosaic artist, children’s book author-illustrator, and life-long dog lover. She combines her passion for labyrinths with the joy she experienced throughout her life with her best friends, many of whom are whimsically represented in this game.

Brenda Pokorny

Mosaic artist · Mooresville, North Carolina

My goal is to bring beauty, joy, and a touch of magic to the world.
Brenda Pokorny
  1. Where it started

    Textile designer

Brenda earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami University with a concentration in textile design, and began her career in textiles. She spent 10 years managing her own textile design business.

  2. Finding her calling

    Mosaic artist

Then she started playing around with mosaic, and instantly knew she had found her calling. Her mosaics range from framed art to architectural installations to functional pieces such as garden benches and tables.

  3. What inspires her

    Gardens, nature & travel

Her work is influenced by the ancient mosaics she has seen and the breathtaking scenery she has stumbled upon around the world.

  4. Lately

    Mandalas & labyrinths

Recently she has been exploring mandalas and labyrinths in mosaic, borrowing from the hedge mazes and labyrinths she has visited, as well as her interest in meditation.

  5. Stories for kids

    Children’s book author/illustrator

Brenda has written and illustrated multiple children’s books. Books inspired by days spent with her 3 sons building train sets, playing games, exploring the woods, or puttering in the garden. My Garden, and Come Spring are available now, with Matt & Mike, and Colorbox in the works.

  6. Step inside

    Get Lost Mazes

Immersive 360° interactive art experiences based on her mazes and labyrinths. Projected large-scale onto the floor, the labyrinths invite you to step into another world while the walls and ceiling swirl and change with each scene. Meant for all ages and all abilities, she hopes to stage them in venues around the country.

  7. And now

Dog Park: A Get Lost! Game

Her love of labyrinths and her life-long love of dogs come together on one game board, where many of the best friends who inspired it are whimsically represented.

The board

Every path leads to TOP DOG.

Brenda’s love of labyrinths, laid out on a field of green, with a few detours for spa days, vet visits, and the occasional stint in the dog house.
